Apply Now for Your Chance to Attend the 2026 Electric Cooperative Youth Tour
HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS: Get ready to pack your bags!
You could join 2,000 teens from across the U.S. to make new friends and share experiences in Washington, D.C., all paid for by WCEC!
Museums. Memorials. Monuments. Memories. Friends. History. There’s something for everyone on this trip of a lifetime!
The Electric Cooperative Youth Tour, sponsored by Texas Electric Cooperatives and the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association, sends select students on an all-expense-paid trip to the nation’s capital.
In Washington, D.C., delegates spend a week touring historic sites, museums, and landmarks. They have the opportunity to visit congressional offices and speak with congressional staff. Entertainment on the trip includes seeing a performance at the Kennedy Center and going on a dinner/dance cruise on the Potomac River. Participants also attend Youth Day, hosted by NRECA, for a day of learning and inspiration.
And almost every delegate agrees that Youth Tour truly is “a trip of a lifetime.”
Applications are now being accepted to determine WCEC’s 2026 delegates. To apply, submit a completed application as well as an essay or video to be judged independently through WCEC.
This year’s contest topic is: How do you imagine representing WCEC on Youth Tour could impact your future?
The application and eligibility requirements for the 2026 trip are available online at MyWCEC.coop/YouthTour.
The deadline for completed applications is 4:00 p.m., Monday, February 2, 2026.
Applications can be submitted online, in person at the WCEC office, 1815 E. Jackson Street, El Campo, or emailed to brodriguez@mywcec.coop.
Mailed submissions will not be accepted.
